Kuwait: supporting homosexual rights in Afghanistan

The government of Kuwait strongly condemns the reprehensible and inhumane treatment of homosexuals by the Taliban. It is completely unacceptable for any individual or group to subject another human being to violence, discrimination, or persecution on the basis of their sexual orientation.

The Taliban's targeting of homosexuals is a blatant violation of fundamental human rights and must be condemned by all civilized societies. No one should live in fear for simply being who they are, and no one should be subjected to discrimination or violence because of their sexual orientation.

We in the government of Kuwait call on the Taliban to immediately end their campaign of violence and persecution against homosexuals, and to respect the human rights of all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation. The international community must stand together in solidarity with those who are being targeted by the Taliban and work to ensure that the fundamental human rights of all individuals are protected and respected.
